These have been compared to DC’s Elseworlds comics, and the studios are kicking off the concept with a highly anticipated package as the three time Oscar-nominee Joaquin Phoenix will show the origin of the Clown Prince of Crime....

Jim Starlin has clarified reports indicating that another of his characters will appear in Avengers 4. Disney has hired Joe Johnston to step in for Lasse Hallstrom to direct the reshoots for the holiday fantasy The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Johnston has had quite a storied history in Hollywood, beginning his film career as an effects illustrator and designer working for the miniature and optical effects unit on the original Star Wars in 1977. John Wick creator Derek Kolstad has joined the upcoming Disney+ limited series The Falcon and Winter Soldier as part of the writing team. While there’s not much in the way of concrete information surrounding the show’s plot, odds are that it will center on Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), or Falcon, becoming the next Captain America after being given the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Keanu Reeves returns once again as the Baba Yaga this summer in what could be the final installment of the fan-favorite franchise that started back in 2014. It’s revealed Johnny Depp allegedly tried to get former Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara to fire ex-wife Amber Heard from DC Films’ Aquaman. Released in December 2018, Aquaman co-stars Heard in the role of Mera, the princess of Xebel, one of the underwater kingdoms. Heard also appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, where she made her debut as Mera, prior to co-starring in James Wan’s Aquaman alongside Jason Momoa. Heard was first cast in the role of Mera in early 2016....

The Punisher actor Jon Bernthal would like to take on Kingpin and Barracuda one day. A Punisher TV series was originally considered back in 2011, but once the character’s rights reverted back to Marvel Studios in 2012, the studio began considering ways to incorporate the anti-hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That finally happened with Bernthal making his debut appearance as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in Daredevil season 2 in 2016....

Apple’s chief design officer Jony Ive today was awarded the Professor Hawking Fellowship by the Cambridge Union Society. Ive is the second ever recipient of the award, which was created last year to recognize contributions to STEM fields and social discourse. As noted by Varsity, Ive was announced as the recipient of the Professor Hawking Fellowship during a ceremony today at Cambridge Union. To choose this year’s Hawking Fellowship recipient, the Cambridge Union’s ‘Hawking Committee’ listed 14 prominent figures in STEM fields, then had three Cambridge academics rank each of them....

Marvel/Netflix has unveiled comic book art inspired by Jessica Jones season 2, confirming the season’s episode titles in the process. In just a few days, the latest Marvel/Netflix collaboration will debut when the second season of Jessica Jones arrives, revealing how Kilgrave’s death affects Jessica. Johnny Gargano memorably sported Captain Marvel-inspired ring attire during his NXT Championship defense against Adam Cole at WWE’s NXT TakeOver XXV. This is far from Gargano’s first Marvel-influenced set of wrestling gear, as he’s a noted fan of the company and its characters.
