Director Jeremy Saulnier, one of the key reasons to be excited for season 3 of HBO’s True Detective has left the project earlier than anticipated. Jerry Springer will be hosting a court show called Judge Jerry beginning in Fall 2019. This marks Springer’s return to daytime television, following the cancellation of his self-titled hit talk show, which ran for almost 30 seasons. The show was cancelled in July, and The CW began airing reruns following the previously standing syndication agreements. Springer, in fact, has a J.D. degree from Northwestern University, and had a law career before he transitioned to the television world....

In a new interview with the London Evening Standard, Apple executive Jimmy Iovine has shed some more light on the day that Taylor Swift published her open letter to the company calling for artists to be fairly compensated during the three-month free trial of Apple Music. A security researcher at Johns Hopkins University who led an examination into the robustness of smartphone encryption systems says he was shocked by the Android and iOS vulnerabilities they discovered. He said that iOS in particular has extremely secure encryption capabilities, but these are not in use much of the time … Wired reports. The researchers said that iPhones essentially have three levels of protection: Cryptographers at Johns Hopkins University used publicly available documentation from Apple and Google as well as their own analysis to assess the robustness of Android and iOS encryption....

Apple announced on Tuesday that Alex Gorsky, CEO of multinational pharma company Johnson & Johnson, is joining the Cupertino-based company’s board of directors. Gorsky has decades of experience in the healthcare segment, and he’s expected to act as an advisor to Apple for health technologies. The announcement was made by Apple with a statement from company CEO Tim Cook, who praised Gorsky’s career as a successful leader. Apple describes him as “one of the foremost innovators in research and development for emerging health technologies....
