Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales co-director Joachim Rønning is in talks to direct Micro, an adaptation of Michael Crichton’s last novel. Rønning is rapidly making a name for himself in Hollywood. The Norwegian director and producer and his creative partner Espen Sandberg worked together on the Oscar-nominated Kon-Tiki, and episodes of Netflix’s Marco Polo before being brought on board by Disney to helm the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales....

A new interview between Jony Ive and Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa offers a rare look into the minds of two design icons. Sitting down in Japan to chat last month, the longtime friends shared thoughts on the future of industrial design, Apple Park’s design challenges, and Fukasawa’s influence on Ive and Apple. The interview was published in the February 2019 edition of Japanese design magazine AXIS. Ive and Fukasawa’s working relationship extends at least back to the 1990s, when both designers collaborated to create the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh....

The operating system is called Remix OS on Mobile (ROM), and it comes with “Remix Singularity” which is what drives the dockable connection. The concept is nothing different than what others have been doing – you connect your phone to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse via a dock, and use Android as a complete desktop OS with apps like Google Docs or Clash of Clans running in floating windows, taskbars, and whatnot....

When Lionsgate released John Wick in October of 2014, they certainly had hopes for the $20 million movie to spawn a franchise of sequels. The well-known industrial designer Jony Ive has left his role as chief design officer at Apple in 2019 after more than 20 years working with the company. Ive created his own design firm, but he remained a consultant to Apple nonetheless. However, it seems that this partnership has now come to an end. In a new report in The New York Times, journalist and writer Tripp Mickle has revealed that Jony Ive is no longer an Apple consultant....

With the enormous success of the recent Joker movie, a possible Joker 2 has DC fans buzzing. Todd Phillips, director of the highly-successful R-rated DC film, Joker, is the most likely candidate to direct and produce a Joker sequel; such a project would afford Phillips the opportunity to revamp some of the other colorful Batman villains. Part of Joker’s appeal is Phillips’ gritty, honest, and mature take on the iconic clown criminal mastermind, and the possibility that he may similarly reimagine other classic characters from the DC universe is an exciting prospect....

Joaquin Phoenix says he isn’t worried about fan expectations for her performance as the Clown Prince of Crime in the Joker movie.
