Joker is a movie that has taken both the box office and social media by storm, with the disturbing story of Arthur Fleck garnering mixed viewpoints among fans. While some of what he does is understandable, Fleck ends up crossing line after line and, by the time the credits roll at the end, he’s a very different man from what he started the blockbuster as. TUAW reports that according to a purported e-mail from Steve Jobs the next version of Keynote will include a sort of AirPlay functionality. Specifically, users of Keynote ’11 will be able to create a presentation and stream it to the big screen via an Apple TV. This functionality will apparently also work from an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch) to an Apple TV. This function will come in handy for many people as it could help alleviate the need of setting up projectors and annoying things along those lines....

Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker origin movie is likely heading towards being rated R. Warner Bros. is not only attempting to bring a cinematic shared universe to the big screen but they’re also interested in expanding the variety of comic book movies. This effort will start with Joker, an origin movie for the Clown Prince of Crime. The project will reportedly be the first film under a new DC banner (possibly called DC Dark or DC Black) that concentrates on making smaller standalone films....

Marvel’s Jessica Jones was a big hit for Netflix; following on from Daredevil, and setting things up nicely for the Luke Cage series which is set to arrive later in 2016. In fact, Marvel has quite the slate of shows lined up for Netflix, including another Daredevil season as well as Iron Fist and The Defenders (dates to be announced), and it’s no surprise that a second Jessica Jones season was ordered too....

Keanu Reeves had an unexpected hit with the 2014 action film John Wick. The movie showcased to the world that the now 51-year-old actor could still kick butt with the best of them. Adored by critics and profitable when one considers its modest $20 million budget, John Wick getting a sequel was quickly seen as a formality, and sure enough Lionsgate did just that not long after. While production on John Wick: Chapter 2 currently continues – and its release date remains nearly a year away – that hasn’t stopped Reeves from formulating ideas for even more adventures starring the dog-loving assassin....

Warner Bros’ Joker is on its way to being the biggest R-rated movie ever released. The iconic clown has been breaking box office records left and right. Yesterday, Warner Bros. stated the film was the 4th highest-grossing DC movie internationally. Joker is a few weeks into its release, and discussion is not even close to fading. Many are currently debating if the film is indeed a dark masterpiece. Joker did receive an eight-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, and some Oscar voters give it their praise....

Every year, London’s famous Claridge’s hotel kicks off its holiday season with a decorative showstopper Christmas tree in the foyer. As you might imagine, the 5-star hotel in Mayfair goes far beyond what most people imagine as a ‘Christmas tree’ roping in world-renowned designers and architects to imagine incredible visual displays. Last year, Burberry CEO unveiled a gold and silver tree composed of 100 umbrellas and 70,000 lights. 2014 was a more traditional tree, designed by Dolce & Gabbana, also pictured above....

Legendary genre director John Carpenter was set to collaborate with iconic actor Nicolas Cage on a movie called Riot, but sadly, it didn’t happen. Unfortunately, like many great filmmakers, Carpenter’s career is full of unrealized projects that seemed to have a ton of promise. Carpenter almost directed sequels The Exorcist 3 and Halloween H20, the latter of which would’ve seen him return to the franchise he created. At one point he even came close to helming a 1990s remake of The Creature from the Black Lagoon....

In a fan cut of the trailers for Todd Phillips’ Joker, Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the Clown Prince of crime dances on some steps to the tune of Eminem’s “Venom” - and it works surprisingly well. 2018 was a big year for superhero movie tie-in songs. Deadpool 2 had “Ashes,” Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had “Sunflower,” and Black Panther had an entire album of songs including the Oscar-nominated “All The Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA....

Alaïa’s London boutique. In a new interview with Wallpaper*, Apple’s Chief Design Officer Jony Ive shared his memories of late fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa. The tribute coincides with the opening of a new Alaïa boutique in London. Ive first discussed the work of Alaïa earlier this year in an interview with Naomi Campbell published by Vogue, where we learned that he would be sponsoring an exhibit at London’s Design Museum that featured the work of the award-winning fashion designer....

Sony Pictures division Screen Gems is rebooting the John Travolta-fronted romantic comedy Look Who’s Talking. Released in 1989, the original Look Who’s Talking was directed by Am Heckerling (Clueless) and starred Kirstie Alley as a career woman named Mollie who is left raising a baby alone after having an affair with her married, womanizing client (played by The Goldberg’s George Segal). Travolta played a cab driver called James that ended up shuttling Alley’s character to the hospital while she was in labor and inadvertently witnessed her son Mikey (voiced by Bruce Willis) being born....

John Wick: Chapter 2 delivers plenty more of what fans want, while fleshing out the property’s mythology and lore in fascinating ways. Shortly after retired hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) extracted revenge on Iosef and Viggo Tarasov, leaving many dead bodies in his wake, Wick is ready to truly settle down and live the rest of his days in peace with a new dog by his side. Unfortunately for John, his second attempt at stepping away from his past is short-lived when he is visited by an old acquaintance, Santino D’Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio)....

Soldiers have been warned by the U.S. military about potential violence during Joker screenings. Directed by Todd Phillips, the next Warner Bros. and DC project officially gives the iconic comic villain his own origin story. Joaquin Phoenix plays the titular role, and the film takes fans back to the 1980s when the character was still simply known as Arthur Fleck - a failed comedian. Jessica Jones. It’s been a great run for this series, but unfortunately, we all know that there’s only going to be one more season (for now). There’s still so much that this series could cover, and very little time to do it with. We can only hope that the show got more warning than Luke Cage did, so that it didn’t leave us on a cliffhanger. There are definitely things we’re hoping to see in the third season....

For All Mankind star Jodi Balfour joins the cast of Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso for Season 3. This is a recurring role in which she will play Jack, a likable venture capitalist. For those who don’t know, the series stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, a hyper-positive American football Coach who ends up coaching a British soccer team. The show has won countless awards, including multiple Emmys, a Peabody award, SAG Award, and multiple Critics Choice awards....
