Star Joaquin Phoenix took no inspiration from past iterations of the character when developing his role in the upcoming Joker movie. Debuting in 1940, the character was intended to be a one-off villain. Following an intervention from editors, however, The Joker ultimately survived and has since endured throughout the decades, emerging as Batman’s most iconic nemesis. As such, the Clown Prince of Crime has been adapted multiple times across a variety of mediums....

Back in January 2010 Apple announced that the hardware switch on the side of the iPad would be a mute switch, just like on the iPhone. Then, closer to the product’s launch in March of this year, Apple revealed that the mute-switch magically transformed into a very handy orientation-lock. Now with iOS 4.2 for iPad, Apple again transformed the hardware switch’s purpose and now it is once again a mute-switch....

Following a string of critical and/or commercial flops, the seemingly ageless Keanu Reeves managed to once again reignite his career via 2014’s take-no-prisoners action flick John Wick. Reeves starred as the titular badass, a retired assassin who found himself forced out of his quiet civilian life as a widower after the brutal murder of his beloved dog by the son of a powerful crime boss. When we told you all about Apple’s new Retail Senior Vice President John Browett, appointed to replace J.C. Penney’s new CEO Ron Johnson in January, we knew Browett would move to Cupertino sometime in April to begin his new role. It looks like Apple has now officially welcomed Browett to the company with Apple’s investor website listing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission mandatory filings that notify investors (and the SEC) of his official joining of the company....

The cast of Jersey Shore reunited in a new photo posted yesterday, while visiting Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino in prison. The cast have become a family over the years, after partaking in six seasons of Jersey Shore together. The photo shows just how close that bond really is, and how happy Sorrentino looked standing next to his wife and long-time friends during the visit. Members of the cast have visited Sorrentino in prison before, which was also documented with a photo gallery posted by his wife Lauren on May 3....

On the heels of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s recently announced reboot with host Jesse Tyler Ferguson, comes the announcement that Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson will be one of the first celebrity special guests. The popular home version of the Extreme Makeover franchise will return to our screens in 2020 with the 49-year-old Modern Family star replacing original host, Ty Pennington. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, originally aired on ABC from 2003 to 2012....

Apple Music just received a major refresh with iOS 10, but Jimmy Iovine has said in the past that the team behind the service is still working to make everything perfect. In a new interview with Billboard, Iovine discussed the future of Apple Music, as well as the team behind it… First off, Iovine addressed the “story” of Apple Music and how it’s much more than just a streaming service. He explained that his first inclination that the music industry and technology industry would become intertwined was when he met Steve Jobs and Eddy Cue in 2003....

Netflix’s Jessica Jones was a great run while it lasted – but unfortunately, it too has gone the way of the rest of the Marvel & Netflix series. Joker director Todd Phillips says his film is hitting back at woke culture ruining comedy. Phillips had a substantial resume as a comedy director, with the likes of The Hangover trilogy and Old School, prior to turning his sights toward the upcoming Joker. The film is a definite departure for the 49-year-old filmmaker, who’d never previously made anything remotely to do with the comic book genre, and whose creative endeavors ensured that Joker wasn’t labelled a comic book movie....

However, reviewers seemed to have mixed feelings at best about the movie. TNW’s Matthew Panzarino liked the movie and called it entertaining but inaccurate: CNET’s Casey Newton, who was allowed to review this movie, didn’t like it: This isn’t going to be the canonical Steve Jobs biography movie. Honestly, Jobs was such a complex individual that I can’t see one ever being made....

It’s been debated rather endlessly over the potential of John Wick compared to many other action hero figures in cinema, and this argument has gone on for a while. We’ll never know for sure whether John would win, so all we can do is speculate based on feats and skills. It’s ironic that in a show that is ostensibly about a superhero named Jessica Jones the one character who truly wants to lean into the idea of a superhero saving the world is Jessica’s best friend and adoptive sister Trish. But when Trish was just a regular girl she was always there supporting Jessica, and even pushing Jessica into a heroic role that she didn’t want to occupy....

Todd Phillips’ Joker movie now has a working title and is assembling its production crew, ahead of filming beginning this September. The as-yet untitled movie will be the first DC Comics adaptation set outside the continuity of the Justice League cinematic franchise released since Man of Steel hit theaters in 2013. Plot details are understandably scarce at this point, but it has been reported that the film takes place in the 1980s and explores the origins of the Clown Prince of Crime - drawing from aspects of Alan Moore’s landmark The Killing Joke comic book, in the process....

It’s no secret that actors tasked with portraying the Clown Prince of Crime take the job very seriously, and Phoenix is no exception. He fully committed himself to the role, losing weight, driving himself mad, and completely transforming himself to chilling results. Though Joker itself has become one of the most polarizing films of 2019, most everyone is in agreement Phoenix did an amazing job....

Apple recently confirmed that it’s opening its first Apple Store in Belgium, in the capital Brussels. Job listings spotted by Dutch site iCulture suggest that a second Belgian store will follow, in Antwerp. One suggested location has been the former Trade Fair building (above), due to be refurbished as a Marriott hotel with possible retail space beneath. According to the job descriptions, Apple is looking for staff in the “province of Antwerp....
