Joel Schumacher feels he never should’ve made a Batman sequel. Schumacher has previously apologized for Batman & Robin, the 1997 film often credited with derailing the Dark Knight’s cinematic journey completely. While both Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns are still widely considered classics of the genre, the two films that followed didn’t enjoy the same success. Schumacher helmed Batman Forever, which starred Val Kilmer in the title part - Michael Keaton had stepped down after Burton was replaced with Schumacher....

The Angry Birds 2 Movie flies into home release this week, shortly after becoming the highest-rated video game film on Rotten Tomatoes. John Carpenter is officially returning to compose the scores for Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. David Gordon Green’s Halloween retconned every Halloween sequel to date and instead took place after the original from 1979. Halloween saw massive success at the box office, so a sequel was inevitable. Just last month, Blumhouse announced two Halloween sequels that will be released in 2020 and 2021. After Carpenter produced and co-composed Halloween III: Season of the Witch, he has been very hands-off with the Halloween franchise....

According to multiple people who have either seen or have been briefed on the upcoming iOS 7, the operating system sports a redesigned user-interface that will be attractive to new iOS users, but potentially unsettling for those who are long-accustomed to the platform… The new interface is said to be “very, very flat,” according to one source. Another person said that the interface loses all signs of gloss, shine, and skeuomorphism seen across current and past versions of iOS....

Joe Manganiello has revealed his costume from the upcoming video game movie adaptation, Rampage. One of the more unexpected adaptations on the list of upcoming video game movies, Rampage adapts the gaming title of the same name that began as a popular arcade game in 1986. Coming from director Brad Peyton, the project will reunite with the filmmaker yet again with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, marking this as their third collaboration together, after Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and 2015 disaster thriller, San Andreas....

Joaquin Phoenix reveals how he created his laugh for Joker, and the inspiration he drew from. Warner Bros. and DC Films are stepping outside of their shared universe to bring a different type of movie based on comic book characters to the screen. Joker will be an origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime, with Phoenix portraying the iconic Batman foe. Joker is written and directed by Todd Phillips, who’s been allowed to take liberties with the character thanks to the film’s standalone status....

Actor Brett Cullen plays a surprisingly sleazy version of Thomas Wayne in Joker, - but he may actually be a lot more comic book accurate than many Batman fans may think. Most famous versions of the Batman story have treated Thomas and Martha Wayne as the patron saints of Gotham City, with Thomas in particular often shown as a family man working to make Gotham better, before his tragic shooting. If comic book fans are hungry for more Jonathan Hickman in the wake of his massive relaunch of the X-Men, they just might get their wish. The writer will also be penning an epic science fiction comic from Image entitled Decorum, featuring art from Mike Huddleston. While details are sparse about the new Decorum series itself, it will definitely make use of Hickman’s perchance for world-building and epic storytelling. The press release does explain the series will center around the most “well-mannered” assassin in the known universe....

It looks like former WWE star John Cena is well on his way to becoming a bona fide action star as Dwayne Johnson announces he’ll headline the upcoming The Janson Directive from Universal Pictures. The movie is based on the Robert Ludlum book of the same name. Johnson was originally tapped to star in the movie as well as serve as executive producer alongside business partner and ex-wife Dany Garcia and their Seven Bucks Production company, but pulled away from his acting duties when his schedule became too full....
